IS220d Differential Options
Hi! I wonder what kind of which differentials from the lexus models that fits the is220d.
Doesn't matter if it requires change of stubshafts. Most important is that it fits the propshaft and in the stock position. Reason I want to change is because of the low, undriveable ratio since I made an engine conversion.. the chassi now holds a 1jz with r154. |
The differential unit itself is the same as the IS F/LS460. A complete IS350 differential would be a good swap option as it is bolt in and has a 4.08:1 ratio.

Are you saying that is220d has the same diff as 08/09 IS F with E-LSD?
|
As I've seen in a previous post the is300 differential fits the is250. Which should mean that the is200 diff with carrier also would fit?
|
Just seen that the is220 have a Hardy disc in the rear. The is250 don't or is200 / 300.
But ls400 and 460 have |

E-LSD is related to the brakes however. The differential is basically just an open diff. Same as IS250/350. Jeff |
Ok, I see.
So then 2010+ IS-F Torsen LSD would be direct fit? |
The only thing about the ls460 or isf diff is that it's around the same final drive as the is220d diff :/
|
Right, which is why I suggested an IS350 4.08:1 diff.

If you don't like the idea of running an open differential (E-LSD) set-up using the IS350 4.08 diff, you can look into getting an aftermarket mechanical LSD upgrade that would be compatible with the IS350 carrier.

The gs300 , gs350 or gs 450h should fit too right, any carrier with M2 on it?
