Default Using defroster for a prolonged period of time

As the title states I've been using my defroster (feet + defroster setting) basically year round rather than use the actual AC button. I believe the two are in tandem so the compressor does turn on from time to time. I think it uses less gas, and IMO cools the cabin just as effectively. My question, is it okay to continue doing so or am I causing a future problem for myself?

I don't see any harm that it could be doing. I run AC all year long

Anything specific that you're concerned about? Sometimes I use the defroster too as it directs air away from my face lol

Nothing specific, was just curious if anyone else runs their climate control like this and had any issues doing so. Feet + Defroster is probably the least commonly used outlet vs Head, Feet, Head + Feet.

But yeah it cools me off just as well as AC on and Head Outlet, as a bonus it makes the ventilated seats more effective as air doesn't need to come up to the dash, just around the floor, feet, and seat.

I'm confused.. You don't have AC on.. but yet the defroster and feet function still cools the air?

I know we have the auto setting.. but readin above it seems as though not having the AC on and using the feet/ defrost setting still somehow cools the air???

My understanding is that if you want the air to be a certain temperature (cold) that the air conditioning needs to be on.. ??
