I got a friend of mine that has been driving one since July which is crazy to me lol, I haven really hoped on this because I had a second car but now then it broke down I might have to look into this rental
Got my call today. Will be glad to get back into the IS. Dealership wasn't pushy at all (Lexus of Orlando) and told me to keep the rental until they get done Should be completed by Thursday. Now I've had the dash replaced and just waiting on the door panels.
Question to anyone who has done this already: Are the dash / door panels part of the recall or something else?
Completely different recall.
Only had my rental for 2 weeks. Its a Mustang convertible. Didn't get the call yet and hope not it soon. Been looking forward for it to warm up to put the top down.
way to late to try and party now bud. They aren't giving them out anymore.
Are you sure? My dealer told me last week he'd get me one. Just give him a call and it's mine to drive. Don't ask why I'm probably not taking Lexus up on the offer. LOL

Yeah, I don't want one either. I just want my recall fixed and if parking a rental at my house that costs them money would expedite things, I'd try it. However, I doubt it matters to them one way or the other.
I haven't heard anything, but I think I'll give my dealer a call on Monday and ask about the status of the parts.
The way I see it, if you have space for the rental, why not? Just try and ask. Worse case they say no. My car has been parked in my garage for 2 weeks. I have plenty of space in my complex so parking isn't an issue.
Allow me to add some clarification. If you wanted a long term enterprise rental they aren't giving those out anymore. However the dealer will supply you with a dealer loaner car' while the cars getting serviced'
Just went to lexus and renewed my rental car. Service advisor said they dont know yet because takata called and said something went wrong at least for lexus of serramonte (norcal)

No point in arguing. However, my SA did say just last week he'd get me an Enterprise car. Maybe that has changed since he and I spoke and the new policy is as you stated. If my wife would let go of our '06 IS350 I'd call again and clarify. She would rather risk shrapnel in her face than use a rental. And "Yes", I always get a nice loaner when my car is in for service.
