My first rental was a 2015 Camry SE and enterprise swapped it out for a 2016 Sonata when it was time for an oil change. The Sonata drives much better and has better features over the Camry, even if it is a Hyundai.

I'm sorry but I didn't read the entire thread. Why are you guys getting loaners? Is it because you're still financing with Lexus? I bought my car at carmax. I have a 2007 IS350 in NC. I did get a recall letter. But my car is in the body shop now.

Nothing wrong with a Hyundai or Kia. At their birth they were both horrible automobiles. Both have matured into pretty good brands.

Sorry but I'm not about to read thru 200+ useless posts to find that one informative post. I'm sure I'm not the only one. You could have helped a fellow forum member save some time. If you didn't want to help, just don't reply to my post, instead of being an ***. I'll just call my dealer tomorrow.

^^^^Lovely disposition you have Luv the name calling You'd rather spend the time calling your dealer than spend a few minutes learning something from folks with some experience. Good Luck to you.

As far as "useless posts". This forum contains quite a bit of useful information for folks willing to learn and share. You're not one of those folks

Guess you need to find Jane and go back to the jungle

No you don't have to have a financed Lexus to get a loaner. I just got my second loaner yesterday. A 2016 Camry silver black sport edition with 500 miles on it. I had a VW Passat for 3 months and I told them I did not want to drive it any longer. Not a problem, my dealer said come get something else.

It depends on how persuasive you are and how big the dealer is. Big dealers have more allotment than smaller ones. Also some of the service writers have a bad attitude which you may have to deal with.

not sure how some of you guys are getting loaner cars paid for but I called lexus corp and spoke to several managers about not the recall and not feeling safe they responded with the car is safe just do not allow someone to sit in the passenger seat. I did call today and they said they should have some eta's by feb.

Just go to your dealer. All the dealers should know the procedure by now.

I had called corp back when I first got this notice and they said they were not going to just give out loaners long term which I totally understand but if I was going on a vacation and this was my only car they would provide a loaner via the dealer. (to be clear it would not be a lexus loaner like you get for service visits, but a loaner through enterprise or whoever the dealer uses)

You have to make your case at the dealer level. They are more customer oriented than corp employees. A corp employee might not deal with the public where a service writer deals with people all day long. Also my experience with corp people is they they focus more on the making and saving of money the bottom line, rather than the customer experience. To them your situation is an expense. That's the way I did it and I am on my second loaner. Make an acquaintance with a service writer and make a case for why you need a loaner now.

Next time you talk to some one like that ask them if the car is so safe then why are they involved in one of the largest recalls in consumer history. You can also ask them about the deaths and injury that have occurred because of this. While your at it tell them you will quote whatever he says to his manger.
