Default For 06' ISx50 Owners - Pedal Dance

Okay, so it has come to my attention that there are STILL some owners of 2006 model year IS250/IS350's that do not know of the famed "Pedal Dance".

What this is basically is a little trick you do upon engine start up that disables the traction control and VSC so you can do burnouts or whatever your heart desires. I personally never drive with traction... Ever. I hate the idea of having the car nanny me. I can drive my own car damn it! Lol.

So upon hearing that some owners dont fully understand how to do this technique or never even hearing about it, I decided to create and share this video to help you fine folks of ClubLexus out. Now before you say it, I know theres already a video on YouTube explaining how to do it. But in my opinion the video doesnt do it exactly the way your supposed to. At least not for the 2IS from what I see.

Anyway, here is my little contribution for my fellow members. Hopefully this helps you out if you didnt already know how to do this. Its super easy to do and I do this so often that I dont even realize im doing it half the time lol.

Edit: Also, please excuse my dirty clothes and old shoes. I had just finished doing a job when I filmed this and obviously Im not gonna be looking my best lol.

Of you don't mind getting a little dirty you can also unplug the wheel sensor on the front passenger wheel. It's simple and turns off the same thing at any speed

Purchase a "VT" slid control ecu and avoid the pedal dance altogether for us '06 owners.

There's a guy selling right now, basically imitates what the 07+ versions do. Press and hold to perm turn traction off.

After I saw that post I purchased one on eBay for $80 hopefully it works, I'll definitely update this thread once I get my car from the shop and install the ECU in it.

Do you have this ecu? Where can I purchase one and is the install easy? Other wise i will just stick to the pedal dance.

Is it a traction control ecu with a code name of VT?

Guys in all honesty.. Do you really want to spend money on an ECU to disable your traction on an 06 IS, JUST because you dont wanna do the pedal dance??

I mean no offense to those of you who purchased it but if the module only makes it so that defeating traction is the same process as the 07+ models, id rather just do the pedal dance. Like I stated before, I do the pedal dance so often I dont even realize it lol. It takes about 7 seconds at the MOST for me to do. Id rather save my money since Im more likely to notice a lighter wallet than doing the pedal dance.

Just try it if you guys havent already. Its suuuuuper easy and once you got it down its embedded in your memory and becomes natural instinct.

To me it gets super annoying, it's the fact that if you're driving down the street and see someone who wants to make a quick pull all you do is click the button and you're on your way, or when you're at the track it makes it a lot easier. So to me the $80 I paid makes all the difference and I'm happier that way.

That is true and I cant argue with that. But wait, doesnt the 07+ model trick still have to be done upon start up? If so, then I guess that module is probably a pretty good thing to buy for all 2is members then.

Also for what its worth, I never drive with traction on. I dont think its necessary and from what ive read here on ClubLexus, its actually more dangerous to leave it on... So for me, personally, the mod is not needed. For me anyway, obclviously my newd may be different from yours .

Either way that module sounds really interesting and It would be really cool if you could post some pics once you install and maybe a min review for those of us with "lame" 06's lol.

From my understanding the module is just from the newer year IS 07+ and it deactivates traction control fully from holding the button instead of doing the pedal dance. If that's the case I honestly think it's the most useful upgrade for the 06 owners. I should have my car in possession this week but I'm not 100% sure. So once it's installed and ready to go I'll post a review/update on here.
