2008 IS 250 Broken Blend Door Cabin Air Filter
Has anybody come across a good video on how to fix the air cabin filter blend door. This is where people end up braking the cabin filter door when changing their cabin air filter because they don't have their car in the right circulating mode, and therefore physically brake the blendor door. I'm looking for a video repair, not pictures...but will settle for that if that's all there is.. I saw a good video on you tube one time but now it's gone. Sounded like an Hispanic mechanic did the job. It was a well explained video on how to access the motor arm (servo?) that operates the up and down mode. Located behind near glove box. In any event, is there a video available on this site demonstrating how to take the glove box apart so you can look at the blend door motor? Otherwise, I may be stuck with a $1500 repair. Help would be greatly appreciated. My son bought the car used and didn't discover the problem until he tried to install a new cabin air filter. The blend door is not loose (it's in the closed position and doesn't move) but he doesn't want to force it open. I read where maybe just the motor arm needs to be reattached. I'm hoping that's the case. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Have you seen the DIY on this site? It's not a video, but if you can't perform the repair using its guidance, I doubt you'd so any better trying to follow a video. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...g-to-circ.html

Hey, same thing happened to my is350 though I think it was jammed or dislodged, because it made a loud noise everytime I tried to set it to open. Lexus quote me $1500 for the fix. Well my brothers a tech and he fixed in 10mins. I don't know how but it's been working ever since he fixed it.

Broken Blend door latch!
So I noticed my air conditioning blower motor was going out and finally one afternoon it failed. As I went to change it, when I took the cover out to access blower motor this plastic piece fell down. I didn’t think much of it except I remember the shop that last worked on my car, called and asked if they can change my cabin filter and they ended up breaking this blend door latch mechanism. How can I fix this??? I don’t want to pull entire interior out to repair this.

I’ve had my blend door broken for years. It makes a whistle every time I press recirculate mode. If you find a fix that is affordable let me know (or anyone who knows please do share the tip)

You either have to remove the entire dash(dash job 8-10 hrs labor) or I will find out if I can carve out around the tabs off the 👉🏻

This is why the Damper Door won’t close. Shops that don’t know to open the Damper Door
(Lexus 87020-30020
Damper Assy, Heater Air) BY THE BUTTON CONTROL, end up BREAKING the Damper tab that’s connected to the actuator/gear motor!! Check pics provided. You’re welcome.Thread
