The cowl needs to be removed, but not the dash.

If you want to know about that other guy's VDIM, you could maybe ask him? I don't know, haha. I have VDIM, so I really haven't had to research it much.

The only real way to know would be to try. That's why I was saying you should perhaps ask the guy in Australia, he's the only person I know of that has done the swap into a car that didn't originally have VDIM.

I suspect that the ECU will likely be fine with or without it, but there's no way to know for sure without trying. It's just not possible.

Sorry.

If you wanted to do it a surefire way, just make sure you swap in the components required for VDIM to function as well as the engine. That's another project though.

Jeff you are a constant source of information and inspiration, while I will never perform this swap, I will watch your progress with great anticipation... Thank you

Pressure plate and engine computer showed up yesterday and I have converted the wiring harnesses to work with the new electronics. Just need to remove the extra transmission connectors on the engine harness and re-tape some of the older sections.

Will you use the 350 auto Ecu?I assume you have all the wiring diagram for both engines but how will you deceive the ECU to work with the 250 manual transmission?

The IS350 ECU is indeed meant for an automatic. Will likely need to get it reprogrammed to remove the automatic programming.

It will probably have to be sent out, yeah. I wish I could do it myself!

I don't consider supercharging the IS250 to be a good option myself. It's too expensive for too little gain.

I hope you don't mind asking to many questions Jeff but I believe that perhaps I m the only one who is really interested in this project.Do you know how much this reprogram will cost? One more question is if you just bought the 350 engine or did you buy the auto transmission also?Danny from Australia (I manage to find him)told me something about changing the auto gearing to manual but I didn't quite understand. How much did the 350 engine cost you if you don't mind me asking?
