09 IS250 M/T Noise
Hey guys, had my is250 for about 5 months now, great slow car but did not realize how crappy this manual transmission is.
i've read the posts about how clunky it can be and the hard shifts into 2nd and 3rd, but is anyone else have a crappy rattle in first gear? when im moving slowly and depressing the clutch without the gas (when car is warmed up) i get a really cheap sounding rattle from the gear box, sounds like its falling apart. not the nicest sound from a lexus. goes away as soon as i get on the gas/under load.
This cant be just clutch chatter?
otherwise clutch pulls no slips or grinds.

ive tried to record it but hard to pick it up over the engine,
so in Neutral idling, a rattle is normal? when in gear its quieter until i start to depress the clutch without the gas, then just loud and clunky metal sounds until under power, its smooth, pulls, no slips just sounds awful.
just doesn't sound normal for a "premium" car. my 06 for focus had a better quieter m/t... my first 94 Mazda 323 was quieter even after 270,000km (162,000miles) lol
i'll look into the f sport shifter i guess.
