Default Window tint replacement

So after 5 years my tint is starting to turn a light brown. Mostly visible when the sun is shining into the car. Other then that its kinda hard to tell but with my OCD it bugs the hell out of me haha. So the shop offered to remove it free of charge and install a different brand that wont fade for $250. My question is what are the chances this is going to turn out good? Anyone ever have tint removed then reapplied?

I've never had tint replaced but don't see any reason why there would be and problem with new tint.
Old tint off and the window is just like it was before tint install.

Ive had tint removed and replaced before. I'd be weary of a shop that is willing to remove old tint for free and retint your windows for so cheap. Removing old tint is a PIA. Most of the tint shops I know charge MORE to remove old tint than to install new tint. The old tint leaves a residue on the window that has to be cleaned throughly before being able to prep the glass for fresh tint. If done properly it will look good as new and nothing to worry about.

you can save yourself some money and remove your old tints yourself. Just time and patients and you need is a box of black garage bag, bottle of 409, scissors and masking tape.

Its the same shop who installed. I called the guy and told him I was pissed off because after 4 years the tint he used on my car turned brown. He said he wants to make his customers happy and was willing to remove for free. But has to charge for the new tint.

Removing tints is very easy except on the rear windshield due to the defrost line. They just need to make sure the old residue is fully gone so the new tint can sit nicely.

I had my tints removed on my integra and reapplied. Looks great but then again it's based on how detailed these tint techs are.

Tell him if he really wants to make you happy he should replaced it with ceramic film this time... that's worth paying a lil more for if he can do it. You can run light tint all around and it will block out way more heat than any limo tint available.

Ceramic ftw

^Bingo! Plus was there any sort of warranty on the original tint that was installed?
