Difference is mainly power of course. Only issue mainly with IS250 is carbon build up but that a hit or miss. I have 350 and wife has awd250 with 115k not one issue beside we replaced the alternator.

Pros = one has more power
Cons = one has less power

Everything else is handled through dealer recalls and trips to the gas station ^_^

It's basically the same debate you'd see in the 2gs section between the gs300 and gs400... gas mileage isn't enough to argue one way or another.

+1. If you want the power, get the 350. I thought the extra power and the small MPG difference the 350 had compared to the 250 was worth it when I bought mine a couple weeks ago.

I will say to you, exactly what I say to everyone esle who asks this question..

Get the 350!!!!! Not only do you get more power, but you also get a generally more reliable engine (not that the 250 is bad). Also fuel economy is about 1 mpg off , unless of course you drive it hard (which you probably will lol).

Good luck with whatever you decide, but please take your time to find a good example in the color you like. As for me my vote is always the IS350 or an ISF if you can afford it lol.

I bought my 250 for the AWD. Aside from the few recalls, I have been extremely happy. Some don't like the AWD bulge in the driver's foot well, but I love resting my lazy leg on it!!! I'm sure some snow tires and such would help for winter, but I prefer the AWD.

IS250 is too slow for me in the sense there's a large freeway hill I've gone up in a loaner and to maintain 70 and accelerate the car would automatically down shift to 4th to go up the hill. My IS350 pulls easily on 6th up the same hill. Even the 2015 IS200t Loaner I had needed to shift down to 6th (8 Speed) with moderate gas to go up the hill at 70-80. I get 24-26 avg with 80% freeway with no traffic with here and there hard pulls up to 70 on the on ramps getting on the freeway, 22-24 avg 80% freeway with traffic most of the way, 21 is the worst I've seen but that was some hard acceleration on green lights and mostly city. I gotten 28-29 for pure freeway cruising at 70-75. I just have to say 1st gear = people don't expect it.

i'm in the same boat but leaning towards the 350. the 250 seems to have the carbon build up issue.

The availability of the AWD is only the pro of the 250. There are WAY more AWD 250's on the market than 350's since its been out since 2006

Other than that and price since the 250 will always be cheaper, the 350's has bigger engine

Only reason to get the 250 over the 350 would be for the manual. For me personally I cannot own an automatic I don't care how fast it is. Even though my 250 is painfully slow I still have lots of fun driving it because it is a stick and it does have a teeny bit of pep in the low gears lol. My husband has an ISF so if I want to have a speed fix I'll just drive that.

^I used to say that until I actually test drove a 350. Plus seeing most of my daily commute will be at speeds under 50 and some bumper-to-bumper traffic, I am glad I went with my auto 350. Mind you, I come a 100% 5-sp background on ALL of my previous cars.
