Default Front Bumper Conversion?

Hey guys, so my front bumper on my 2007 is250 is having some issues with the tabs. Mostly all of them are broken and the fitment is just awful. I might just try to fix the tabs with some glass and epoxy, but i kind of just want to buy a new front bumper. I know there used to be a guy who did the isf replica front bumper kit... but i don't think thats around anymore. What are my options for a direct swap onto the 2007. I don't want to spend the 1700 that sewell quoted for the 2011-13 upgrade kit

What is your budget? 09-13 bumper will fit on to your 07 with a little modification but they both comes with different grill and fog light so you have to buy those separately. And problems will be like holes doesn't line up unless you buy the sewell upgrade kit

You will never get glass/epoxy to adhere to the bumper long term, if you use that method it will be a temporary fix at best.

There are tons of IS-F conversion bumpers on ebay and they are a direct fit. I have one for my car. they can be had for about 350 with fogs and all you need is paint. I spent an extra 150 to have a local shop do it. It is not on the car now but will be back soon. It will fix your tab problem as well as give you the F bumper conversion that you want. However be weary, the fitment is great but the plastic material is not as strong as I thought it would compared to OEM. Its a good alternative option bumper tho and affordable compared to the 2011+ F Sport conversion thats about $1800

if you are looking for a good fix for your tabs then look up Lord fuser. its great for tabs and also adhering urethane to urethane. sands easy and is flexible. down side is u need an applicator gun, which is not cheap and also the stuff itself is 50 bux for a tube.

now u can do what I did on my new bumper and use marine tec. I used that to mold my lip and also fix my broken tabs.(I hit 3 animals in a 9 month period).

I will say the marine tec is hella stronger but a lot harder to sand. no applicator needed just mix to the ratio specified and apply. let cure for about a day.

once cured its hard as hell. I molded my lip with it and hit a dead cat shortly after. didn't even crack at seams or tear off like the fuser did. only thing was the body filler did crack but easy fix compared to using the fuser.

pros on fuser
a. easy to sand
b. flexible

cons
need to spend a lot of money unless u know someone at at body shop who has the gun.
if find that under severe stress like hitting animals it will separate.

yeah we have a lot of mongoose and cats where I live so I never seem to evade them.

good luck

Hey, I know this is old but did you ever install the bumper? I was looking at this seller as well and wanted to know how the fitment was. Btw what does PDC mean?

Does it come with the fogs and lower grill as shown in the pictures?

Thanks!

Why not wait for the 3IS front bumper conversions? They are being mass produced in Asia. It is just a matter of time before they hit the market in the US.

Maybe OP doesn't like the 3IS bumper, or doesn't have the time to wait and needs something immediately? But in case he does here's the link someone posted in a thread a while back. Not sure if anyone's made the purchase to check if the fitment and quality is legit or not http://m.alibaba.com/product/6026796...for-Lexus.html

Isf bumper > 3 gen bumper imo, don't think it flows with the 2gen at all.

Lol I agree. I think the 3is conversion looks better at times on the 2is than 3is. Case in point, the above.
