Default paint problems on the is?

I have a 2008 is250 black.I was wondering if anyone else had issues with paint on their is. Detailing my car Las weekend I noticed micro cracks I was wondering if this was common or from the old owner neglecting the paint.

are they all over or spots about the size of bird droppings?

if you don't clean bombs off quickly on black paint especially, you are just asking for trouble...

Is it on the roof, hood or trunk? Could be the clear starting to go if the car has sat in warm sun all its life.

I think embolism is right, probably some bird bomb attack edging into the paint.

OP, can you please post picture?

I will post pics after work. I think the clear on the hood and trunk are starting to go and that's why I'm seeing micro crack. Definitely not bird poo that can usually be detailed out

Are those pics taken after you get your car detailed?

those look like microcracks from bird bombs and/or sap. It's what happens when you don't clean the crap off and then the paint bakes in the sun. The clear expands and contracts but the clear under the crap does not (to the same extent anyhow) so you get these areas of cracking from the different degrees of expansion and contraction.

The only thing that will fix that is to wetsand and repaint those areas. On the bright side, those spots are not as noticeable with all the swirling you've got going on all the rest of the paint... : )

visit any of the forum sponsors to get some products that will help you fix that paint up. It looks like it could really use some TLC.

I've got a couple of those unfortunately in my roof from the previous owner not caring about bird bombs. Looks exactly like what you've got picture there; and unfortunately with is no cure or easy fix for it. It will require fresh paint.
