some of you run spacers to clear calipers?
 

i have been researching wheel fitments and offsets to run on the awd is250. im sticking with a 17'' wheel and thinking of doing a 9'' wheel with a 35 offset. i dont have to be completely flush and thats not why im posting. im posting because some of the things people have posted have said that they needed a spacer to push their wheels out more so spokes would clear the caliper.. am i missing something? why would any wheel hit the brake caliper?

from my understanding, lower offsets have the hub mounting towards the brake side of the wheel center (so you have more wheel lip) Not 100% sure if the AWD is250 has bbk, but on my is250 rwd, I'm running 18x8.5 +35 without any problems. Hope that helps.

so basically, the more offset, the closer the spokes are to the the hub/brake caliper etc.. i get it.. the IS250 awd must have a pretty thick brake caliper then to actually make contact with wheel spokes.. do you know of anyone off the top of your head that has an 8.5 or 9'' wide wheel at a 30 offset? ive searched the forum and havent found a picture nor a specific-ish answer and im not new to online forums either. but more often than not, theres not a specific set up or answer for each individual question. thank you for the reply by the way.. most people would just yell search or troll around..

not that i can think of... I don't know too many people with awd 2IS sorry about that. Yeah, not a lot of people post their specific specs which makes it harder for people just getting started. No problem, just trying to help others out

It is highly unlikely that a 9" wheel with a 35mm offset is going to contact an IS250 brake caliper. I tried a 17x9 with a 48mm offset and it BARELY rubbed the caliper on my IS350.

On the other hand it is highly likely that you will have to roll fenders to keep from rubbing.

Yeah I'm not sure how flush this is going to be. I will be lowered on H&R springs as well. I guess we will see haha

i test fit my 17x9 +35 earlier without a tire on it.. it clears the caliper, but its closer than id like it to be. its around the same distance from rim to control arm though in the back side so thats good
