Default 2007 IS 350 Ground Loop Isolator or separate Aux and 12V power?

What's up fellow IS Owners?

So, a year ago I bought a used IS 350 without the tech package, my biggest regret was not holding out til I found one with the tech package...

Anyway, I bought a Belkin Bluetooth adapter that is suiting me just fine, aside from the hum and whine at acceleration. I did some research about ground loop isolators and some people recommend separating the Aux input wire and the 12V socket wire under the center console. Has anyone experienced this issue? If so, what do you recommend? Thanks folks.

What's the tech package? You mean nav?
What year is your IS350?Sewell sells an updated aux port replacement with an inline filter for my 07 for $152 if you sign up with them to get forum prices as it's a known problem with the older 06-08 ones.

Hey Harper7,

Thanks for chiming in. My IS is an 07. That Sewell updated Aux input it's over $200. I know Lexus did some recall warranty work for many second gen IS Owners regarding this exact issue, but I'm likely S O L because I'm out of warranty. But that's something to consider. Thanks again.

I have this ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001EAQTRI/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1421270740 ) ~$12 ground loop isolator from Amazon and a Bluetooth adapter on the way for my 07 currently. I'll let you know if I works once I install it, but the reviews suggest it will.

Hey Andper10,

Which Bluetooth adapter did you choose to go with? I bought the Belkin Bluetooth Hands Free Car Kit. My only concern is Siri not deciphering what I'm saying, and the noise requiring the ground loop fix. In all, I'm happy with it. Thank you for contributing to the conversation, I look forward to hearing how it all works out.

Club Lexus member price at Sewell is $152.47 plus shipping. You may want to call Lexus customer service to see if they'll pay for the part or installation, given that this was a known problem with a TIS issued,

If you read the TSB, it specifically states that it is only valid during the bumper-to-bumper warranty period. While there is always some discretion for good-will, getting it covered for free would be a long shot.

I bought the PAC ground loop isolator from Amazon,
Amazon.com: PAC SNI-1/3.5 3.5-mm Ground Loop Noise Isolator Works with iPod/Zune/iRiver and Others: Automotive Amazon.com: PAC SNI-1/3.5 3.5-mm Ground Loop Noise Isolator Works with iPod/Zune/iRiver and Others: Automotive
, and it works absolutely perfectly; it completely eliminated the whine and noise without reducing volume or causing any other issues. Other than having the little plastic box in my arm-rest storage bin, it's as good a solution as the factory one, at a cost of 11 dollars and change.

This is the exact same one I got. Solved all my problems too. OP this is the one you want if you're okay with the little plastic box in the armrest and saving $200.

Ordered the original BlackBerry Remote Stereo Bluetooth Gateway from Amazon but the third party seller sent the new BlackBerry Music Gateway. I tried it out and returned it after confirming that the audio was much quieter and lacking bass compared to a direct AUX connection, which was why I didn't want it to begin with. Waiting on an original BlackBerry gateway to ship from the U.K. now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/390640304705?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The PAC ground loop isolator works perfectly with the wired AUX connection with very little to no reduction of volume, so I'm sure it will work with any Bluetooth adapter too. Can't comment on Siri since I have an Android phone and don't normally use voice recognition either.

I was seriously considering this Grom Audio before going for a aftermarket Nav. It's more expensive than the ground loop isolator, but adds other features as well.

Apologies for reviving an old thread. Anyone have a solution for this? No buzzing, but lost the bass with the ground loop isolator.

Thanks!

I'm using the above Pac loop and the Brightplay HD Car adapter 4.0 from Amazon with very good results. Bass is fine and sounds crisp and clear. I think the Brightplay adapter is going for $13 right now as of this post so you might want to try that.
