Folks,

I recently had a cracked windshield and thankfully I had purchased the permaplate which covered the replacement for $0.

The new windshield is a genuine Lexus branded one but it doesn't have the shade band at the top and appears to have less of a green tint than my original glass.

I believe that my previous windshield was an after market PG glass replaced when my car was CPO'd by the dealer.

The safelite rep said that their is no Lexus OEM glass that has the shade band. Is he correct? Do those of you with OEM windshields have a shade band at the top? Does your glass have a strong green/blue tint?

Any comments or suggestions? Did I get an adequate replacement?

Confirmed, no shade on the factory glass.

I just had mine tinted limo 8" worth. That works nicely. Only about $45

 

Will that be enough to cover sun hitting the dash board?
