Anyone know anything about SSR wheels?

Someone is offering to trade his forged 18" SSR type C RS
wheels (widths are nebulous), for my 19" Volk GT-Cs.

I was looking for a lighter wheel with better performance.
But I DD the car, so want to make sure that the build
quality is there so when I hit a pothole the wheel isn't
easily bent.

Ssr are tough. They are forged.. so..

ive had 2 sets of SSR's(SP1 and SP3 curently). hard to not co sign their build quality. even though im about 95% positive the Volks are going to, without a doubt, be lighter. but if you arent tracking the car, the wheel weight isnt really a huge factor you are going to notice on your DD anyway

According to this site:
http://measurespeed.com/ssr-rims-wheel-weight.php
the SSRs in 18 are ~< 20 lbs, which should be lighter than a pair of 19" Volks.. although I am not 100% for sure.

i only say that because back when i had a set of Volk GT-N on my mr2. the 18' Volk was lighter when i switched to Work Equips that were 17". but that was comparing a 2pc wheel to a 3pc wheel. so im sure a 1pc vs a 2pc, the 1pc will be lighter. but if you not tracking the car, i wouldnt worry about that too much. just get what you like, espcially if its going on a DD:thumbup:
