Default Trade my Volk GT-Cs for 08-09 ISF wheels?

I am trying to trade my (kind of rare) Volks 19" staggered wheel setup with tires, for wheels that
are a little lighter. These wheels look really nice but I don't like adding car parts (weighing
more than 5 Ibs) unless they offer some performance benefit.

Someone wants to trade his good condition 08-09 ISF wheels (also 19", they look gunmetal)
+ CASH for my wheels. He has Michelin Pilot sports with similar tread per him.

My wheels are 8.5" and 9.5" widths. I believe the ISF wheels are not as wide?
How much cash would you ask for in addition to the wheel swap.

Honestly the IS F wheels are more expensive than the Volks when new, so really it's going to come down to what you're each willing to take for your respective wheels in the used marketplace taking into account rarity or whatever.

Point is, I think it's a relatively straight trade in my mind.

Keep in mind that if you get the IS F wheels for your IS350 you'll need spacers for the front to clear the brakes.

So what I am asking is though, even if the ISF wheels are a bit lighter, if they aren't as wide,
wouldn't that null any potential handling performance benefit?

What do you mean straightforward, they are offering me the wheels + cash, any figure
in mind what I should ask.. $400-500? Also, those Volk wheels cannot be bought anymore
if I am not mistaken.

The IS F wheels are 19x8 and 19x9, so the difference in width is minimal, I wouldn't think you'd see much difference in performance from the differing widths.

What I meant was that the IS F wheels are more expensive, so if they're offering you them plus cash, you're really coming out on top. In my mind, they're both worth about the same, but maybe they aren't to you or him. I don't know what those Volks sell for used, so it's hard to put a price on them, someone else may be able to chime in on that.

I sold a set of 19" GT-C 3 years ago for $1600 with tires, perhaps IS-F around same price but depends on condition of course

Do the trade; those particular style of Volks I personally don't find that appealing. The IS-F wheels are quality wheels and won't disappoint. You can run the same size of tires on both sets of wheels; so how is there is any performance differences between the sets?

The IS-F wheels have 265/30 my Volks 275/30..
The fronts are 235/35 on both.

The one thing.. I will have gold wheels on a silver car
Kind of bling bling maybe

^You'll not have any performance issues with that MINOR difference. Heck, you can put 275s on that IS-F wheel after you get them if you want.

Looks like we will keep our original tires. He wants his original tires (which are almost bald)
for fitment/flush issues, anyway.

He is including 20mm spacers which he has on the front; next thing is to completely swap
all the wheels and make sure everything fits for both of us. Should those 20mm spacers
suffice in clearing the is350 front calipers?

I think you're getting a great deal if this all goes through.

brand new vs brand new thats not an even trade at all. multipiece Rays wheels arent cheap by any means when brand new. thats not an even trade at all in the case the GTC were brand new vs a stock ISF wheel. thats the worse case of getting rolled up ever lol.

but used vs used, if the Volks were in ratty conditon, sure i would trade straight across. but the only place a stock ISF wheel is more expensive is from lexus and thats about it.

to the OP, personally if it was me i would still want cash on top if i was trading 2pc Volks for a stock wheel. but thats just me, take it from a resident wheel guy

^But how many folks do you see buying THAT EXACT model of wheel? I'm sorry, but that's a 90s/00s style wheel that has its day. Of course, that's in my own opinion. Limited market=lower price.

What would you say is a more modern wheel style? I care more about performance and
looks second.
