Default Amp is shot

Well I have done my research and my 06 is250 amp appears that it has taken a crap on me. There is power to the radio but there is no sound and this happens off and on and today there is no sound at all. My question is should I replace the amp with an OEM one or has anyone replaced with an aftermarket. Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend another good, used OEM unit. If you want to upgrade the thump in the trunk or other speakers, you run a signal input box and use the signal from the factory lines to feed new amps and those new speakers.

I had the exact same thing happen this past week on my 07 IS250. Would replacing the OEM amp with an aftermarket be an easy swap with OEM Navi?
