Would you guys trade rims for free?
I currently have an 2006 350 with stock 18" 10 spoke rims. I am able to trade these rims for 2009 chrome lobster claw rims....my car is black so the chrome will stand out but not sure if the weight will affect performance or if it will have any unnecessary chipping/peeling/etc.
What would you recommend?

Depends if you like chrome. I like black and chrome a lot. Not sure what you mean by more weight. The factory wheels do have an issue on their chrome wheels. My sister had hers redone by lexus and others in here have complained about the same issue. You have to like the lobsters though which I think many people on here don't always like.

What was the charge of having the rims redone? Also, what was the problem with them?
Here are some pictures of the rims:

Chrome plated wheels are heavier than non plated alloy wheels. And that added weight is unsprung.
I had Chrome plated wheels long ago on my black SC300. When I moved to the DC area in the late 90s, the chrome started to peel from the inside and three of the wheels started leaking air. I finally junked the wheels and replaced them with after market wheels. I hope the process has improved since then. Anyway, I am not a fan of chrome plated wheels. But I do like the lobster claws.

I actually like your stocks over the lobclaw. What about tires are you Taking theirs and if so how's the tread wear in comparison.
But if it's an even trade then give it a shot for a new to you look. It won't be the last change as long as you are active on clublexus lol

I currently have Bridgestone tires and the other guy has "Sumitomo HTR ZIII" tires, but I agreed not to swap tires which will be around $75-100, as quoted by a local tire shop.

I'm not a fan of the "claws". But if you end up going that route, keep this Duplicolor product in mind that will create a "black chrome" look on the wheels : https://www.duplicolor.com/products/shadow/
