I would vinyl over dip anyday. It costs a little more but if you're into the details then you'd probably prefer vinyl...
After spraying a few test pieces with plasti dip (trailer hitch, etc), i hated the texture and also the feel. Most of the pics of plasti dipped cars are from far away, with no macro shots.
Plastidip usually ranges from $500-$900 depending on the type of dip. Vinyl wrap costs around $2500 at a good shop. Complety not worth it imo...I'd rather get a paint job for that much.
No one else pays your car payment and drives your car but you. If it looks good to you do what you want...that's all that should matter, not if CL approves or not.
