My friend's IS250 RPM tach meter and Speedometer needles jump all the way to max and then back down to normal position everytime he starts up the car.
Is that normal for IS250? Because my LS don't do that.

I might be wrong but I think they took it out in the 3is.

They should be silent when they do this. A lot of times we repair these clusters when the owners complain about a clicking or clacking noise when the needles move.

The needle motors are common for failure and loud noise.
