Default P0051 cel

Does anyone know how to replace the sensor to clear this code? I replaced the spark plugs and a week later this code appears. Thanks

It's saying you have a bad a/f sensor. Do this first reset the ecu to clear your code. Do a search and you see how to do it. Then wait to see if it comes back on. If it does replacing your A/F sensor. Or double check your work after you installed the plug to make sure nothing wrong.

Disconnect the battery for 20 minutes and then reconnect. That will force the systems to reset, and hopefully that helps you with your problem.

Do you know how to replace the A/F sensor? I'll reset the ECU in the morning but I did clear the engine code and the code came back immediately

I pulled the two fuses to reset the ECU and it cleared for a little bit then came back. Does anyone have the manual to replace the sensor? Thanks

The sensor is simply one of/or multiple O2 sensors; you put the car up on a rack, and proceed to remove the sensor.

thanks I see the sensor on the header driver side but I don't see the connector. When I put it on a lift will the connector be accessible from below? Also is the driver side left or right? Can I unplug the sensor then start the car and see if its the correct sensor I unplugged?

Yes, you can unplug the one next to it to confirm! The error will clear after 3 engine starts.

I replaced the o2 sensor and what a PIA that was. I didn't know they make a o2 sensor socket until I went to autozone. I don't have a lift so it was difficult to remove the connector. I took the intake manifold off so I can reach the back to where the connector is at. The CEL cleared and I passed inspection. I also found this thread after I was done

^Thought everyone knews about the O2 specifc sockets. LOL! Well, you could always modify a deep-well socket to work too.
