***OFFICIAL Genesis Track wheels on a 2nd Gen IS thread***

Being the new owner of a set the "Tracks" myself, I thought I'd create a thread dedicated to the setup. Basically this thread will help others with the same setup (or future owners) with questions/comments/pics/etc about the wheels being installed/used on a 2IS.

Now, I'm sure there are those of you wondering...why Hyundai wheels on a 2IS? Well...

Any questions? LOL!

But really now, these wheels are visually much more appealing...plus help fill the wheel wells more. Not to mention they are just about the same weight ("Track" rears are lighter) than the factory 2IS 18s :

Now onto the educational portion of this thread :

*They are 28.9lbs for both the front and rear wheels.
*They are 19x8 in the front and 19x8.5 in the rear; both front and rear have a +35 offset.
*They accept an acorn/tapered/"tuner" style lug nut.
*You will want to get hub centric rings (60.1 to 67.1)
*They accept a slightly modified '97 - '01 Lexus ES300 center cap. See this post of mine for pics of said mod.
*They will fit on a IS250 without spacers, while on a IS350 you will need at least a 5mm spacer for the fronts to clear the brake calipers.
*Depending on you amount of drop (springs/coilovers) currently on your 2IS will dictate whether you will rub PLUS the size of tire.
*I've read some running a square setup or staggered, just depends on what you want to do. Either way will get the job done.

I will probably be respraying these wheels, as they're far from road-worthy in my opinion; but these are my Tracks I picked up today :

Thanks for looking/reading! Post your comments/questions so we can add onto the previously addressed "issues".

Glad to hear that you finally picked up your set of Hyundai Genesis track wheels. They definitely have an aggressive OEM look to them.

Have you decided what model and sized tires to put on your new wheels?

Very nice, any tips on where to find them besides the Wheels for sale page on here?

Well, I was thinking 225/35/19s and 255/35/19s; I'll have to review more existing threads on the topic to see what others have ran. I'll probably have to do the bumper tab mod now; but that's cake. I've already removed the front-half of the front wheel liners.

I found mine on the local Craigslist; guy's wife got new wheels on her Genesis and they sold me the stock ones. :D

I bought a set for myself. Waiting for new front tires then installing them.

I purchased the "genesis" center caps with the wings in them rather than the hyundai emblem. I will look into the Lexus center cap mod though as it sounds more appealing.

^Post of pics once installed! Oh, also let us know what tires AND suspension pkg you are running AND how low.

Glad to see so many owners rockin tracks after all these years. I love the concave most of all. When i first bought my setup i went with 215/35 fronts and 225/35 rears and spaced the f/r out 10mm. The original tires that come with the wheels if iiirc are 225/40 fronts and 245/40 rears.I did roll both front and rear fenders but also cut in the rear. I bought after market caps that said coupe on mine. But later found out ES caps work best.

Cool stuff having a dedicated track package wheel thread, very useful info in op Gville!

^Do you have pics of the "215/35 fronts and 225/35 rears and spaced the f/r out 10mm" setup? Would like to see if it is "flush" or what exactly.

I want these for my car!! I love the way they look. I would probably do the 19x8.5 all around if i could

Ill try to look for the pictures. Im on airbags, but when i bagged it down, the fender would sit on the sidewall closest to the rim. It sat pretty flush at ride height.

^Thanks!

I've got my "Tracks" all set for paint; sitting in primer right now, and will hit them with a 800 grit wet sanding before the hyper silver. :)

Good luck with your set up. That picture you posted is what made me get them for my IS350!

Here they are on a Crystal White Pearl

Has anyone confirmed if a 2IS Lexus TPMS will work fine in a "Track" wheel? Looking for a budget-friendly TPMS option here.
