Default 2007 is350 spark plugs rated for 120k miles

i made a thread about this before and someone said that even the 2007 spark plugs on is350 are rated for only 60k , i have now talked to both lexus and toyota dealer. both said i dont need to change the spark plugs at 60k ??? im so confused, better yet she said labor alone (at toyota dealer) for spark plugs (just labor) $350!!! must be out their damn mind!!! I found someone who can do them much cheaper but i dont think i will be available this weekend when he is free. So should i change them or not, i already ordered the 60k mile service from sewell honestly hoping that i might get slighly better mpg , mixed city and highway i can only get 15mpg max!

I have 07 IS350 and changed my spark plugs at 120K miles. If you have time you can do it yourself, trust me it's not hard to change them out if you want to save the money. You should be getting better MPG's than 15 on average.

Spark plugs alone wont increase your MPG dramatically, you might see 1-2 mph better. There are many other factors you should also look into: fuel injectors, air filter, tires are properly inflated/balanced, quality of oil, etc. If you havent check the air filter, I'd start there, also you are using 93 octane, right? Anything lower will impact MPG along with lower grade fuel (commonly used during winter)

yea my tires are all at the correct psi. my air filter is pretty dirty, im waiting for my kit to come in with plugs and filters. 1-2 mpg would be great fro just spark plugs, then maybe 1-2 for air filter and ill be super happy! from 15 to pissbly 18+ mpg would be great! is this reasonable to expect? im also going to clean MAF sensor

Yeah with spark plug, air filter, oil change (use the advanced synthetic with fuel economy green bottle from Mobil 1)... you should get better MPG, 18+ is expected. I have 19 or so in city driving on my IS350 2006.

I believe all OEM sparkplugs are rate for 120k. However, it doesn't hurt to change them a little bit sooner. I changed mine around 90k and they looked pretty beat up with lots of built up on the tips and the ceramic bodies were yellowish from the heat. No sure if that had too much affect on the function/performance of the parts? I didn't notice any increase in MPG but the car idle a bit smoother after sparkplugs changed (only sparkplugs changed, no filters or anything else).

The guy I bought my 06 IS350 from had Lexus change the plugs every 6 months. Why, I have no idea.

You should when you are in doubt. Oil change does not cost you much.

I also recently purchased that IS350. It has all good maintenance records from dealership and have done spark plugs, brake fluid, battery, rear differential oil change already at 60k miles. However, when i receive my car at around 84k miles, I still done a lot to it for a peace of mind : spark plugs, AC filter, engine filter, oil and filter change, summer tire changes (they have brand new winter tire and i live in CA), brake fluid flush and rear differential oil change.

I know i know, it is overkill but I plan to keep the car for many years down the road
