paint color obsidian black 202
I have a question of black paint code for the blacks is250's. I have the obsidian black (202 code) and was wondering if there is any pearl in the paint or is it just straight up black? I'm planning to get my front, back and spoiler painted and wanted to know on prices for the paint?

I don't think there was much of a color difference between 202 and 212 black. I have a 202 paint code on my car but the body shop painted my IS-F style bumper with 212 and it is an un-noticeable difference. Jeff can correct me if im wrong but i 202 was a Toyota Universal color and 212 was used primarily for Lexus
I did some research on a couple car paint sites and they say that you need a magnifying glass or a microscope to find the difference between 202 and 212

202 and 212 are very similar colours, however 202 does not have a clear-coat, it is a single-stage paint and was used by Toyota for many years (mid-80's to present). 212 is a multi-stage paint and is a Lexus-unique colour.
They use different formulations between the colours as well, but they are pretty similar.
