Default Hit a huge *** pot hole at 50mph... is this bad?

Hey all. I was driving home tonight from work, and hit a huge *** pot hole at about 50 mph. Got home and went out to look at the front tire, and this is what I found. Is my tire done? What causes this? Tire is 2 months old. UGH. Any help is appreciated. Pics below...

If the tire is only 2 months old you might get away with only 1 new tire. How many miles on it?

Yes, sometimes I get lucky. The tire has less than 2000 miles on it. They look brand new. I may just get 1 tire. Which is good. These are spendy pieces of rubber...

im sure your rim is fine, and with that little of miles you can probably skate with just getting one tire. just be more careful out there lol

I blew a tire when hitting a water filled pothole making it appear to just be a puddle..The hole was a result of construction nearby…I called the county and they put me in touch with the insurance company of the construction company…which paid for a new tire and alignment..

If the tire has less than 2000 miles on it, get a copy of the receipt from where you bought it from and call the manufacturer. It happened to my friends audi and the manufacturer sent him a replacement for free plus a voucher to pay for mounting. You can probably still drive on it right now but proceed with caution

^I agree; go back to the place you purchased it from and complain about the "bubbles" in the sidewall. Say it is some sort of manufacturing defect and have them put a new one on there for free.

This is the sort of situation where I'm glad I purchase from Discount Tire and purchase the "tire insurance"; so any time there's anything wrong with my ties, they'll replace it for like $30 (the cost of the "insurance" to cover the new tire).

GL!

Check for any bends in the wheel (or rim) itself. Hitting a pothole at that speed may have introduced bends. Additionally, also look into possible alignment, and check your control arms/bushings for any damage.

Should he complain to Lexus about the 'defective' bent wheel?
