Default Reviews of FAKE Philips D4S 6000k bulbs

So out of curiostiy, how do the fake ones stack up?

I unknowingly bought 2 sets of fake Phillips D4S Xeneco 6000k bulbs for my HIDs, its only til after i paid did i realise that they were fake. So they were cheap enough so that i really dont care to make a stink about it to get my money back cause its not worth the hassle. Ill get real ones in a month or two once a sets burns out.

Now that they are coming, im curious, how do they stack up to the original philips Ultinon D4S 6k in terms of color temp and durability? are they a decent close match? I know the ultinon is gonna be brighter, but i heard the fake ones are more blue

Please owners, if any, want to come forward and share their opinions id be greatly interested. Not everyone can afford to pay 250USD for a pair of lights. Lets hear ur reviews

How did you realize they were fake? Where did you get them from? Also OEM colour if 4300K or 4100K I believe, not 6000K, so right away you aren't really comparing apples to apples here in terms of colour.

would make it very difficult to discover, since the one marked fake in the final photo looks like the one marked real in the first photo, based on the "red salt" and the top of the tube.

thats why i stay away from Philips due to counterfeits.

I just go for the Osram Xenarcs as i have not seen fakes for those yet...

OEM is 4300K. I want to compare the color to a Ultinon 6000k in terms of how blue and to both Ultinon and the OEM bulb in terms of durability/hours.

i just placed the order, i didnt recieve them yet, For how i discovered/assumed its fake see below.

Not easy to see in pics

Harder than you think, plus u gotta know the info and have both bulbs hand in hand to know.

How i discorvered they are fake:

a. I knew there were of fake philips bulbs out there, but didnt realise to what extent.
b. I thought they might be real because the seller on ebay is a big vendor on brz/frs forum in australia and wouldnt falsely advertise Phillips Bulbs if they were fake (is possible vendor has no clue). He also linked the ebay page to the forum and the threads where the lights were installed.
c. I didnt do enough research ahead of time and there was these pics from the forums showing the install, just saw the D4S, the 42402 and thought i was good to go:

d. Unlike the other fakes out there this one is not advertised as an Ultinon.
e. After i thought i got the real deal (i just thought since the BRZ market is out now, Phillips developed a 6000k Xeneco bulb for cheap to target the growing 86/frs/brz crowd) i tried to find a catalogue somewhere that said the D4S Xeneco came in 6000k.

So after failing to find a single philips catalogue w/ a Xeneco 6000k i chalked it up as a fake (mind you the Ultinon isnt on the US catalogue, so you really do have to search a few catalogues).

But hey as long as they work for atleast a year and dont come across a straight up blue id be happy,I want something ot match my fog LED retrofit and parking lights that i bought from a phillps distributor locally (so i know those are real)

In case any one is interested:
Ebay page:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/PHILIPS-D4S-HID-LOWBEAM-Headlight-6000K-BULB-UPGRADE-SUBARU-BRZ-brzforums-com-au-/180947017331?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a21485e73&vxp=mtrand is linked to this thread:
link

Nowhere do they mention that these arnt genuine, anywhere on their forum or their website.
Also i ended up buying directly from the Vendor website, not ebay as it was even cheaper, and less risky to get the "real" thing

Yea might consider these as well instead of the Phillips depending.

Not my images but I agree.

However I suspect they are just mean to point out that some of the fakes are exact in some areas but other features still are different.

If I was you I would stay away from anything that's fake. I replace my OEM bulbs with some fake bulbs from eBay and the bulbs destroy the head of my ecu/ballast. The dealer want to charge me 1500 to fix the problem. Luck, I ordered an OEM ballast offline and found a hid shop that would replace the head. So I end up spending 450 and wasting my valuable time b/c I purchase some cheap bulbs. DON'T DO IT.

which fakes did u buy? Those must have been some proper cheap azz bulbs, cause most of the time theyd just die faster, not overheart and burn the ballast. Interesting, your def making me think twice about installing them now
