Anyone drives RWD in the snow?
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any experience driving RWD 2IS in the snow?
I just picked up Falken Eurowinter snow tires (225/40/18 and 245/40/18) for my stockers. Granted, I'm not going to drive if there's a blizzard outside... But just wondering how it behaves in light snow with some weight in the trunk?
Thanks!

Traction control off - this is key if you find you have no power in the snow.

Mike,
Loads of threads on this subject to get your answer with no waiting...
Go to search,
Put 'winter' in the search keyword and use search in title (you can also use 'snow' or 'ice', etc for more threads should you need them)
Then select the IS - Second Generation forum and hit search. You'll find threads like these among others (there were 114 of them!)

I ran Toyo Observe G-02+'s for a couple of years and am now running Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3.
The grip with the Toyo's in snow was fantastic, the Michelins aren't as good in snow/ice, but are far superior on cold, dry roads.
Every now and again I miss the grip I had with the Toyo tires, but I really do enjoy the superior handling at all other times with the Pilots. I got what I was expecting from them.
In any case, I drive my IS250 RWD every day of the year, and I haven't gotten stuck yet. It's quite fun to drive in the snow. I love my RWD.

Hell yes I'll be driving RWD in the snow! Now that I have new snows on the car (Michelin X-ice) I'm hoping and praing for snow, and taking every opportunity to sing "Let it Snow" while doing snow dances on the side!

I've driven a 350 RWD for about 4 years now and while it's passable it's not something I'd recommend. However, I bet Canadian winters are very different from CT winters. I'm guessing you get more wet snow, less hard ice.
My two tips, traction control off/VSC on, and if you're sliding while braking, throw it into neutral. For some reason with the brakes pinned and ABS active, the rear wheels keep pushing. You stop much faster in neutral.
Winter tires for sure.

Beasted through the middle of the Rocky snow storm last winter with Goodyear Eagle GT's on the back and Hankook V12's on front. When I say beasted through the middle of it, I mean I was driving through the worst of it on the I-40 through OK and TX for two days
