Trunk won't open

My trunk won't open with key nor on trunk or from the inside. Lighter went at same time so I thought it was a fuse. Mechanic changed it and it still won't work. He said he needed 2-3 hrs to figure it out so I left.
What could it be?

Is it locked?

Check your valet button, that can be tricky if someone bumps it.

check the glove compartment, there is a button called "Trunk Opener" make sure it's On

Ok...bare with me...female here :) I opened the glove box and used the key and nothing happened...am I missing something?

Once you have the glove box open, you should see a button on the left side right below where you have to insert the key, the button should be marked "Trunk Opener"

Press the button in so that it's "ON", (If the button is sticking out that means it's "OFF")

I attached an image on my previous post that you can use as a guide.

Did you hold the button for at least 2 seconds?
