I think dorkacho was asking about the acrilic windows, not the CF.

CF yellows over time if left out in the sun. He said to clear coat it. UV protection will slow the yellowing process.

On another note, I really don't see why you guys had to block up the venting. If you were really worried about the engine bay getting wet/dirty, you should block up the front bumper radiator vents too. A lot of dirt, bugs and water get in from there!

i'm guessing the you get what you pay for rule still applies to cf hoods. i'm looking at 2 OEM style cf hoods right now, one is significantly cheaper than the other. what might the differences be to cause such a price difference?

I'm willing to bet a cheap CF hood could possibly have major fitment issues, like large wide, uneven gaps, not locking properly because of alignment issues. Not to mention a horrible cf weaving pattern. I would stay away from cheapo's. Even my Seibon hood has larger gaps on the sides than a stock hood.

Actually carbon stays black forever. Epoxy yellows, just like acrylic/lexan/plexiglass etc.

You are correct. Just being lazy and glossing over the details. I'm just assuming people know clear coating offers UV protection and epoxy resin is part of the cf manufacturing process.

^ does anyone have a pic of CF yellowing?

if manufacture states that the product already comes with clear coat, should i get it clear coated again for extra protection or would that be an over kill?

did you get it clear bra too? since it can't be painted over when it gets chipped, for extra protection?
