Bike rack options

Picked up mountain biking and want to use the IS (daily driver) to bring the bike with me to work and practice on the local trails at the end of the day. I don't want to hang it off the truck so I was looking at the possibility of adding a hitch. I've seen some members out there with hitches on their IS so I'm looking for some input on rack options.

I don't want the roof rack or the truck rack and was looking for something that's lockable. Please give input on hitch size and type of rack used. A two bike rack should be all I need and photos would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would tell you to do a search, this topic has been beaten to death :)

I mean we don't have a ton of choice, its not a truck lol

What setup did you end up going with?

Appreciate the insight. :)

I couldn't find what I was looking for. Would you be able to send a link of the different times this came up since your join date in 2012? You may have some current stuff.

Hitch and two bike lockable rack is what I'm looking for.

Thanks.

Bike Rack

I put a inch and a quarter Curt hitch on my IS250. I have tried quite a few bike racks and am currently using the 1 up. My favorite so far! They are very light and nice quality. I'll post a link below to their site. The only down side is that there is no lock and comes as a single tray with add-ons. I normally use a cable. The other option is the Yakima Hold up. Its the newer version that is all aluminum. Trust me, light weight is your friend. Stay away from the Thule T2. Nice rack but its heavy and it sticks out to far and makes it easy to drag. Hope this helps!

My buddy just bought a 1up. It's a nice rack and looks like it will last a very long time. It's all metal and made in the USA. If I didn't have other options, a hitch and 1up is what I would go with.

I bought an inexpensive bike rack. It has a T shape with hooks at either end, it carries two bikes.

Was pretty much end of season for riding with no snow , wife had suv and I was itching to get last non snow ride in so I proceeded to make my bike fit in my is350 trunk.

29er full suspension MTB ---had to remove wheels seat and handlebars--took me 5 mins to place in trunk which is not too bad...but not much room left for luggage if required.
