I was rear ended a few weeks ago and my car goes in for repairs in a couple of weeks. It looked mostly cosmetic and I had it checked out twice but obviously until the car is pulled apart you never really know what damage is done. Today while pulling into my garage I saw the trac light flicker a few times (I was barely moving) and heard some new noises from what was either the transmission or rear suspension. It was more of a clicking noise than anything. I hear it more prominently when switching between park, neutral, reverse and drive as well. This is all new. Also noticed when accelerating hard there's maybe a clicking in the suspension (I though it was just the broken pieces under the bumper and maybe it still is). When I push down on the rear end of the car I'm not able to reproduce any noises so I think it's ok. I was wondering of there are any thoughts of what could be the additional damage. It was a 3 car accident. car at fault wasn't paying attention to stopped traffic and hit a stopped vehicle around 50mph and pushed that vehicle into me. Moved me maybe 15ft from where I was stopped. The car hit me at a downward angle so just crushed the lower bumper. Everything under it is destroyed, you can push in the bumper and feel all the pieces. Bumper looks ok but it did get solid contact and pushed in quite a bit.

Some pics attached. Orange car is the one at fault. Guy was lucky to walk away.

Clicking leads me to believe possible CV boot damages.

Whatever the second was, the first car took out its Flowmaster.

Keep us posted on anything new.

You all are missing the part where he was the lead car out of the three involved in the accident. The red Saturn (car #1) hit someone else (car #2); car #2 hit Tarrant64 (car #3).

I was in a similar accident in my AWD 250. Took it to Sewell (mistake) and it was over 5 grand in damage. Looked just like yours. Good luck man, glad you're ok.

This. sorry if that wasn't clear. I couldn't find the pic showing all 3 on my phone at the time.

I was surprised at how little the damage looked but when you see it up close it's just....demolished under there.

I still get the noise, drove around a bit more and it wasn't the trac light it was the low tire pressure light that was flickering I think. Also it only does it at night. It's the only thing that might make sense given the temp drops where I live (50s down to high 20s or low 30s).

I'll remind the body shop to ensure they check everything out. The noises the car makes when under hard acceleration are just jarring right now.

^Add more air in the tires.

The noise leads me to believe either axles or drivetrain issues (diff / transfer case). Sorry.

Can't believe your car doesn't even have a scratch! Yes bumper is dented but hardly scuffed or tore off. Should have looked worse after seeing how much damage the orange car had. Wish all is well after the repair.
