Does anyone know if it's possible to cut the old tips and weld new ones on?

Didn't the OP get OEM exhaust tips when you purchased the GFX rear? unless it was purchased used from another member.

If not, it seems like a lot of member prefer the sk2 exhaust tips.

Also, why not get an exhaust instead of tips? If you are worried about noise and an exhaust being too loud, try the tanabe. They are not that loud IMHO and fairly affordable.

Good luck.

Some options are GFX tips, S2K tips, custom tips, exhaust.

you mean like this? I got these f-sport tips from the previous owner of the gfx lip. He found a salvage f-sport exhaust, cut off the tips, welded it on his stock exhaust My friend removed the stock finishers, cut the tip, and welded these on my stock exhaust for me. (yes, I know the right side is about .5 inch further out. didn't have tool to cut the stainless steel)

with lip kit

without lip

I've been looking for them too. Ebay doesn't have any. Try a Honda forum.

This is one way:
