Still no official estimate yet, hopefully tomorrow. But body shop did say they found unibody\frame damage.

Estimate came in at $19k! Damn. Will see what insurance says. Repair costs are only about half the value so I doubt they will total which is a bummer given frame damage.

Body shop said they are $3000 away from insurance totaling it. They are going to look the car over again tomorrow.

Hmm maybe minimal frame damage but looks like the structure held itself well, hood, bumper, fender and lights can all obviously be replaced. Glad you're ok

Im shocked they haven't totaled it since you are only 3k away from it and once body shops start repairing stuff they usually find more stuff wrong with it as they dive into the repairs. I would contact body shop and have them explain to your insurance that there is going to be more then what they estimated in damages given they haven't removed everything thats visibly damaged and needs replaced/repaired

Waiting to hear back from body shop.. I plan to ask if they tore it apart at all and if they are quoting OEM parts of certifit BS. It's crazy.. of all the parts on the estimate the most expensive was the headlight wiring harness/module.. $3000!!

Damn sorry to see this! Looks like the car handled the impact okay though. Glad you are alright.

Doubt they would. It's in the body shops best interest to have the car repaired. They would make more money doing the work then if the car is totaled and they only get the inspection costs.

Sorry to hear that... glad that you're not injured.

Work with the adjuster with the estimates given by the shop. Insurance Adjuster has the ultimate decision with the car being totalled or not. If 3000 means alot to the insurance company, them they'll go the repair route. Depends on the insurance company formula and how flexible they are.

As long as the frame is not damaged, you can replace the fenders, bumpers, hood, radiator, etc...
