Default is250awd turbo?

Hey guys, so I know there are a lot of existing 250 supercharge/turbo threads but I was wondering if anyone knows/thinks if this would work.

Basically I got a stock turbo for a wrx, and I was wondering if itd be possible to set it up onto my is250awd. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks

These engines arent built to hold boost.

Anything is possible if you want it bad enough and have money. Dont expect more than ~7psi unless you spend a lot more money and have a lot of custom fabricated parts/engine internals.

So ive been lurking around the forced induction threads and youre one of the few who have actually went through with getting supercharged. To be honest, I dont want the turbo for high boost/milk it for as much power as i can; I simply love the sound of a boosted car. end of story. To me thats worth it.

Are you able to give me a general ballpark of how much ill end up spending with only that stock turbo currently in my garage. Do you happen to have a build thread?
Thanks!

Im still fairly new to the IS scene but Im coming here from boosted cars. I can really only tell you the minimum youd need.

Intercooler, Piping, bov, fuel upgrade (injectors, pump??), some type of piggy back computer to tell it all to work together.

. That should be enough for a basic set up, and in all honestly could probably be had for fairly cheap, id estimate around 1500. The initial cost would be the hard part though. If you are an excellent fabricator it may be possible, but between fabricating a manifold and all of the IC piping you're looking at most likely doubling that initial investment fairly easily. Id say plan on spending at least $5,000, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that nearly doubling.

And then owning a turbo car, especially that isnt factory boosted can be a pain and get expensive quickly and can prove to be less than reliable. Just be prepared and make sure you really know all the options before pulling the trigger.

Thanks for all of the info! Like you suggested, I'm just trying to familiarize myself in the topic a little more before actually investing time/money

That's honestly the best route if you trully want a boosted "Lexus" you can also go the SC300 route.

basically any of those lexus that a 2J/1J can swap into. the 2IS isnt the best platform to try and want to have a boosted car with. can it be done, yes. with enough funds and custom fabrication. but is it really cost effective vs other cars, no

but like stated above, anything is possible. but a turbo just for sound, is kind of a wasted reason. not to mention the WRX td04 is a baby turbo even on that car so on an even bigger motor it wont make any real power. not even stock is350 power i highly doubt
