Default Lever on the bottom of headlights

Hey guys, I accidentally pushed on this big grey lever on the bottom of headlights, what does it control? Is it going to mess up light alignment when I re install headlights?

Isn't that the grey twist lock the high beam bulb? Look close at your own picture, it appears that lever locks the grey twist assembly in place. Push towards the lock side.

I thought so but wasn’t sure. Is the lever to adjust the direction of the bulb or something?
I just never recalled seeing it the few times I’ve had to remove a headlight.

I pushed it back towards lock but it still seems to have some play as if I can angle the light or something but it didn’t look like it was adjusting the angle of the bulb… so just wanted to get someone else’s 2 cents. I’ll test it tomorrow night on the road and see if I messed anything up I guess haha
