Somebody broke my passenger side mirror
Went out to my car to go to work this morning and found that the glass from the passenger side mirror of my 2006 IS 250 is gone. I can't detect any damage to the housing, so I'm wondering if I can buy a replacement glass online and install it myself. The part I'm unsure of is what pieces may be broken/missing that would prevent me from just replacing glass. There's a square white bracket left inside, if that helps. If anybody has advice I'd appreciate it!
Also, there was absolutely no broken glass or trace of the mirror itself, and no readily visible damage to the housing. I've never seen anything like it.

Hmm that's kinda odd... maybe someone stole it? It's actually a pretty expensive part.
I think a replacement is somewhere around $250 for the glass, you might be able to find it cheaper on eBay or something though. I know there are a few threads about replacing the glass.

It really looks to me like the glass either comes with that plastic bracket and the whole thing snaps or adheres in, or the bracket on the end of the armature would connect to the back of the mirror. I'm really hoping I can just drop in a replacement mirror. Sounds like my car is going to need the carbon buildup issue looked at, so I'll be at a dealership soon either way.

My previous car someone smashed out my mirror for no apparent reason. It was actually two parts, the glass and the plastic holder which was still there and is what clicks into the square white piece you mentioned. I was able to either order the mirror glass online or the whole thing, though I ended up breaking the first glass trying to fit it in.
