Caliper Paint, now excessive squealing
Has anyone else had the problem with painting your calipers and now having an excessive squealing noise coming from your brakes/rotors? I noticed it once i painted my calipers with the g2 paint, now every time my foot is NOT on the brake, it chirps at me consistently, and when i press the brake, it stops. is this a wd-40 fix?

Sorry no solution here but i would NOT apply wd-40 to your caliper, rotors, brake pads, or to anywhere it would potentially run off onto these parts.
|
I would never spray WD-40 anywhere near my brakes.

WD-40? :nono:
|
Yeah I wouldn't spray WD40 near your brakes bro. In fact I would highly suggest not too at all
|
soooo, what your saying is... apply a ton of wd-40, got it!
just kidding, im glad you all told me that. hmm, now how to fix the high pitched stereotypical whining noise, time for google. |
Did you take the calipers off the car or from the rotors? I would go over all the steps again to look for anything unusual if you haven't already. If you still can't solve it are you able to isolate which caliper its coming from?

whats the condition of the brakes..... is the back plate contacting the rotors?

the overspray prob go in the grooves of the pads...after about 100 miles all of that should clear up....if not remove the pads and look at them...im almost 100% its over spray between pad n rotor

he didn't use spray paint, he used G2 kit

you got excess paint somewhere. only fix is to drive it fast and brake hard a couple of times to eat up the paint and smooth it out.

I painted my brake parts too. If you dont tape up the discs you will get overspray on the rotors. The paint should burn off after a few miles of regular driving. Everytime you apply the brake you will burn the paint off until its all gone.
