Default !!!Please Help!!!! Noise...

2006 IS350 98K

Last week starting hearing a strange noise from my car. Hear it occassionally at idle and when shutting off my car. Hear it more when accelerating/decelerating about 1-2.5 RPMs. Sounds like a screeching/chirping noise. I went under the car while it was on (in park) and I think its coming from the back of the engine. It's slight but noticeable to me. Any ideas on what it could be? It's not the AC at least I think not I hear it with AC on and off.

new belt, some tools and a day off should do it. I've never done it on this car though.

if its just your belt you can change it in 10 min or less, 9/16th socket turn left of the tensioner pulley and it wiggles right off. but chances are you either have an idler bering or tensioner going bad.

When you move the belt tensioner you can place a 5mm bi-hexagon wrench in the hole below the tensioner, it will hold the tensioner in place while you can take your time and get the new belt on.

Default Chirping Sound

Dealer plus 3 other mechanics said it was either my tension er, alternator and or a/c compressor.I changed my belt and car has been silent for 20k miles. Also you can take a bar of soap and rub it on the inside of belt,my noise would go away for a few hundred miles.
