Default 2012-3 Headlight to 2006 non-hid install?'s

I have searched and search to find my answer to no avail. But anyway, when installing the 2013 lights onto a 2006-10 car, can you just buy the 11-13 headlight bracket or do you need to modify the 2006-10 brackets for them to fit properly? The reason I ask is bc I have to buy the brackets anyway since my car was involved in an accident.(at least it's on my estimate anyway). The body guy said I don't really need them bc it did actually hit that hard, but if he doesn't have to modify them and i can just buy it, it would be better. Thxs

I guess you can just buy the brackets if you want. The DIY on here showed to drill a hole on the stock one and that worked for me

Drill what hole? Are you talking about I'm the 06-10 bracket where you have to dremel out the half moon shape?

yes you have to dremel sort of a circle shape on one corner, only 2 screws will line up.
