Any IS's out there with splash guards?
I saw some thread on this from 2009 that went nowhere.. The Dealer said Lexus still does not make mud flaps for the IS. I always had them on every car,SUV I've owned.
Does anyone have splash guards on their IS now? Where did you get it? Was installation easy? Thanks all for your feedback. |
I've never seen anything offered. Lexus certainly doesn't.

What's your motive Raj? Is it a look you want? Trying to be lower? Do you really go through that much water? (Doesn't rain much here in Nor Cal. Just cause you've had them on previous cars, does that mean you need it on the Lexus? Since the thread didn't go anywhere in 09' do you think Lexus had made any since?

I was thinking of the splash guards to protect the car from all the salt laid down in the Winter here in the North East.
After looking at some images with ISX50's with the mud flaps I believe that it ruins the sporty look of the car. |

Well I'm in Washington state and if anything like that existed it would be here.lol I've never scene them for the 2IS tho. People do have rain guards in So Cal tho but that's just cause they look pimp on this car.

Thanks Karasha. My hero Eli doesn't swing a bat. The weather sucks at times here in NJ.
We visit my Wife's Family in SF, other than the wind and cool temps even in the Summer,at least there's no sleet, hail, snow. The new 2012 IS-250 is my Wife's so I know she wants to keep it pretty much stock. |
For my winter set up , I ordered rally armour UR universal mudflaps to keep the salt/slush off my is , it's on it's way I'll post pics since I haven't seen it done yet

^I've seen those on Subies all over the web, but never on a 2IS. Not sure if the "rally-look" will go over well on the 2IS, but it's definitely functional is attached correctly.

They look really good on the subie's. I always wondered what they would look like on the 2is. It's hard to balance the Lexus's class with "Jdm look" |
What if they were trimmed to sit flush with the body of the car? They'd probably not function like they're supposed to but if you're in it for looks it might work. Interested in seeing how it looks on an IS though since I've also never seen it.

There coming in today ill do a test fit with masking tape to show how it looks while I find the right hardware, can't wait to see how they will look and function !
|
So, I could use some also... I had my bike on the back, went down a muddy/rocky road the threw stuff all over my carbon bike rims. Mud and nicks all over them...
I found this on ebay, but they say 2008-2013 (not 2006 to 2013) and just the IS250. Any difference in the body between a 2006 IS350 and a 2008 IS250??? http://www.ebay.com/itm/4pcs-Front-R...lV7n0z&vxp=mtr |
i have also looked into this for the 2is. Originally, the car already has OEM "guards", probably not what you want. Those little black plastic flaps are their purpose.
You can buy universal fit guards and trim to size. Probably closest to what you want There are also some ebay ones, that say they're specifically for lexus 2is but I don't think they're made by Lexus, that look like a piece of hard plastic that's mounted to the car but it probably isn't what you're looking for because it looks stupid and not "rally like". |
