I just bought a manual 07 is250 and i cannot get it into reverse. I try and go to the left of first gear but can only get into first. Am I missing something here?

 

Are you lifting up the lock underneath the the top of the shiftknob?

 

no. geese i hope this is what i am doing wrong. I think it's an aftermarket ***, because it has the F on it. I didn't think 250s came with that, but maybe this is the f sport version? Sorry I'm a noob, but have wanted one of these cars for awhile now.

 

I understand. They're the same as the Scion Tc if you've every driven one of those. There is a little ring under the top of the shiftknob you have to lift up before it will go into reverse. Congrats on the new car and welcome to CL!!!

Guessing you didn't have to reverse out of a parking spot during the test drive? LOL!

 

The sales guy looked at me weird when I tried to push it down to reverse (s2000) Anyway, not like an S2000. I just hopped into a 350 and called it a day.
