New nuts and new wiper arms if the old ones are damaged. Not much to see here. (Pun intended).

I think I'm just gonna bring my car in just so it's on record if I ever decide to sell my car privately

Question What is the torque spec?

Does anybody know what the torque specification is for the wiper arm nut? Thanks in advance

Smile 19 ft. lbs., now

The wiper arm nuts on my car were not at 19 ft. lbs. until just a moment ago. It is not like they were falling off, hardly, but to get to spec it took ~ a quarter turn. My car's production date is 12/07 from the Kyushu factory.

Hint, to pry off the plastic cap (which hides the nut) use a plastic wedge-shaped pry tool and push where the cap meets the wiper arm, straight towards the nut.

No worries for me as my car has never seen a single snow flake.

i will bring my car in when it is dirty. Free car wash. Uuuhoo.

Fremont Lexus actually does a very good job for a free car wash, both interior and exterior. He will vacuum truck upon request since they are not supposed to open it without consent (privacy issue). Tried the Stevens Creek free car wash and don't bother get it washed there.

Ex-ay on the car wash. Yay on the gas though.

I'll try go after the LFA rental again. Last time it didn't work (during the free oil change).

I had this problem while passing through a swarm of bees on the 405.

If if the recall seems minor, it's good to see Lexus being overly cautious and taking care of their customers.

Not a big deal for me. I'll just mention it to my service rep the next time I take my car in. My wipers work fine and I won't see snow at least for the next few years.

I think this was more of a customer service recall, a pre-caution because multiple people have had issues so they decided lets take care of everyone to show we care....but of course the media will soon post that people are dying due to this and Toyota this and Toyota that... blah blah blah

Got an appointment today for this... I really just wanted to use a loaner car for a day so I don't have to drive my car into town where all the crappy roads are.

Funny the customer service representative said it was going to take a LOOOOOONG time for them to do this. What, to tighten a bolt? Fine by me, so long as I have a loaner!

Did the service rep explain why it take such a long time?

Loaners are always great. What did they give you?
