Default A word of warning about plasti-dip and window molding

I decided to remove the plasti-dip from my window molding today, and after a close inspection it appears that the plasti-dip may cause the black section of the molding to separate from the chrome as mine has in multiple places.

It's possible that the solvent medium used in the plati-dip can leach into the adhesive holding the black vinyl on. I sprayed the first layer on thick, in a cold garage, so it took allot longer than normal to dry possibly causing the harm.

Just thought I'd throw out a public announcement...

Sorry for no pics, but I turned the car over to the body shop today for some work.

plasti-dip is cheap and tacky looking to begin with. Keep it classy
