Pre-owned purchase question
I have a friend who recently bought a certified pre-owned car from Longo Lexus in socal. She is really happy with her purchase however, there is a small ding that the dealer refused to repair saying they don't make any sort of cosmetic repairs to used cars. Is this really true or can corporate bring a happier resolution to this small inconvenience?

When I bought my CPO IS350 last summer, there was a small ding and the dealer cooperated with me to get it fixed. I noticed the ding one day after I bought the car.

Dings can be pretty quick to fix so surprised they wouldn't take care of that. Every dealership is different though. Sounds like the the deal is done though. I would have walked out if thy wouldn't handle a request as simple as a ding.

Once the contract is signed, everything else done after it is usually considered "good will" and is done at the dealership's discretion. Simply stated, they're not under any contractual obligation to take care of your door ding (as your CPO only covers drive train components).

Was the ding noticed before your friend signed for the car? I bought mine CPO and noticed a ding on it too, I brought it up and they agreed to have it repaired next morning if I left the car there overnight. Unfortunately for me though, the ding is right where the rear bumper meets the rear quarter panel, and it wasn't repairable.
