Amazing all this was achived with stock ecu. Not sure if I missed it but are you adding extra fuel in anyway using a fmu (fuel management unit) of any kind?

No. Not yet that is. That is officially going to change but probably not until spring. My MAPECU3 will be here Wednesday and we're going to see what this car is capable of over the coming months.

Had a solid setback this weekend but ill detail all that when I have more info.

Mostly just been working on aesthetics. MAPECU3 and Vertex front lip coming in spring. Also trying to get in contact with PPE to work on some headers.

The setback i had was breaking the input shaft on the blower. I tightened the belt far too tight. It was my fault. Got it rebuilt and its been running strong, everyday, rain, shine, or snow.

This is an old quote from HKS350

1) You can't pull timing
2) @ 8lbs you'll be running 13.3 AFR which is too lean for boost. You'll lose WTQ most likely
3) Roterx compressors don't like pulley change's. It throws off the compressor map badly.
What is meant by "Roterx compressors don't like pulley change's. It throws off the compressor map badly"? Is this saying that if you change the pulley, you'd have to disconnect the battery to reset the ecu and start all over again? Of is there something else? Why would this be unique to Rotrex compressors and not others?

On a somewhat related note: I see you are getting a mapecu3. I was under the impression that there wasn't much you could do with the ecu, even piggybacking, so what will you be able to adjust once you have that? Isn't the stock ecu going to "retune itself" so that changes you make will more or less be negated?

Thx

scott - With a piggy, you can work around 1 and 2. Im not sure what he meant by the third one. See 06ISDriver's thread for more info on how the MAPECU3 tuning works. Its not a miracle cure, but hopefully it will be what I need to break 400whp.

Here's the progress. Slow going. Waiting for some parts from New Zealand so that my harness can be built. Looking promising so far.

I also have another 1-2 tricks up my sleeves that will allow me to drop a pulley and adjust my max boost with hand tools, and another to eliminate any belt slip.

I missed that youre adding MAPECU3, thats awesome. Interested in your opinion on how hard it is/was to gather everything (harness in particular) and how difficult tuning is going to be. I'll have to find someone skilled enough with MAPECU3 to help out tuning when/if i add this. Always wanted to do it to "complete" the performance aspect of my car but 06ISDriver made it sound like its not a "tune it once and forget it" type thing (if i understood right) and I dont know how difficult it would be to re-tune occassionally.

Either way, good luck with it all!

Exclamation Spring Update

UPDATE, and obviously pics, or it didn't happen:

1) New, larger front mount.

2) Got my pulley sur-grip coated fight belt slip issues, machined a "shoulder" of sorts to keep the belt on during cold (<35 degree) starts. I was having an issue with tossing the belt in super cold temps right on start up.

3) Also dropped back down a pulley size to 75mm, and installed what is basically equivalent to a manual boost controller, or the 928 motorsports BLV. And set it to pop at 7psi for now.

No, that is not my arm. It's my welder's.

4) Wideband install. I still need to mess with my belt tension a bit to get optimum grip. Im topping out about 6psi. So i need to troubleshoot whether the issue is the pop valve or the belt tension. I can hear squeaks on hard downshifts so I'm assuming tension. I wanted to keep it light to start and tighten from there.

The interesting occurrence is this: People have been complaining about fueling issues and running too lean. But at WOT at redline I'm pulling 10.0-10.3 AFRs. You guys know what that means: More boost to come.

Excuse the dirty a-pillar. Didn't think to wash my hands before messing around with it.

I am working with a few different tuners to see who is the best qualified to work with the MAPECU3, and working with 06ISDriver's tuner to obtain as much info as possible before beginning. Also slow going.
