I had one of my rims damaged at a tire shop and they offered to reimburse me for repairs or replacement of the wheel, whichever would be more cost effective. I'm sure the insurance company will probably do the same, either repair or replace the rim for you. Let us know what happens!

I had one of my stock rims remounted. After I got it back, I noticed 3 chips on the rim near the lug nuts. I said screw it cuz they were just stock rims anyway. But was still pissed. I put some chip paint on it and called it a day. This was at Discount Tire.

So I got a call from Sam's Club's insurance company today. I explained what happened, confirmed the make/model/year of my car, noted the 18" stock rims, didn't know if they were hyper silver or regular silver (didn't matter because replacement cost is supposedly the same), confirmed that three of the four rims were chipped around the lug-nut holes, etc.

They will mail me a check valuing each wheel @ $400 and adding estimated shipping cost for the wheels plus another $100 to cover the cost of mounting/balancing the three wheels/tires.

I'm glad they're covering me with minimal hassle.

Can anyone recommend a reasonable place for replacement OEM rims?

I'll update this thread once the check arrives.

Good that you found out before drive back to VA, but that wasn't story like me. Here my story, i bought my 13 LX 570 last June and drove for two weeks and the truck was shake from speed 45-55 mph, and i brought back to Lexus dealer where i bought it from and have rebalance the wheels, later of the day i came to pick up my truck, before i drive off the lot i inspect my truck to see any wrong? Sure enough i found out all four of my wheels got chips at the lugs hole and some scratches on the spokes, i went back to the office a tell them about the wheels, the service manager came out and look and say sorry to me, and she offer me to get 30k miles service free. Hell no, i told her No i just bought this 90k truck and i dont want to have chips wheels, and she ask me if the new wheels would make me happy? I said yet and they did order me new wheels

I don't think that was above and beyond at all. These guys install tires all day, every day, and they don't even know what direction to mount them. Then you have to come back and waste at least another hour to get something done that should have been done right the first time? And for the trouble, they give you $25 towards buying more stuff (knowing you will probably end up being lured in to buy more than $25 worth of stuff)? No way that's above and beyond. They should have refunded $100 for the service (probably more--isn't your time worth more than that?).

Sorry for the rant--my $.02.

Glad they stepped up with the rims.

Sams/Wal-mart have great insurance for this reason.

My ex-FIL took his car to Wal-Mart for oil change. They did not fill up completely and on his drive home the engine locked up. We called the store, they had the car towed to OUR shop of choice and their insurance covered the repairs and rental fees.

To the OP: with $400*3 +$100*3 + shipping fees you should be able to pick up a used set of aftermarket wheels from CL or craigslist locally to you. They may not be one off Works or SSR's but definitely an upgrade from stock.

Thinking out loud here I would consider getting the rims you want at this point. With the money you're getting back it's a good opportunity. If it were me I would take my stock rims off and save them for dedicated winter tires or sell them to someone who needs another set of rims for just that.

If you like the stock look go for it. I still have stock 17"s on my IS350 (wish I had 18"s honestly) but I don't mind the look. It's OK for now.

A check arrived yesterday for $1,390.00. All's well that ends well!

Got snow this morning (back in VA) so I'll wait until Spring to replace the wheels.
