Lexus is quite reliable. Had 3 in the family (including mine). The other 2 are gone and are replaced by Mercedes and BMW. Another car we have in the family is the Infiniti G37. The only thing I ever hear about in the family when it comes to vehicle complaints are Mercedes and BMWs. Not a single (major/drivetrain) problem with the Infiniti/Lexus compared to the German cars. Constant oil leaks...transmission pooping..and all of that. Only problem I've had with Lexus is interior wise such as creaking and rattles but I just turn the music up a little to ignore it.
One problem I have with my IS is the subwoofer in the back if the car. Whenever I play base-like music such as R&B, Dubstep, Hip Hop, and etc at like volume 15 or 20 even on like level 2 or 3 base, there's a rattle. It sounds like something is loose. I've met quite an umber of other IS members that went all out with mods and blast their music often or just at volume 30 and it sounds flawless. When I listen to music in my car, it sounds like crap cause of the uncontrolled base?? and the rattle.

My '07 IS 250 AWD is creeping up on 80k miles (69.9k picked up back in March 2012). The reliability of the IS is just astonishing, it came from two previous owners that took a good job of service and TSBs. I pretty happy to be owning such a reliable IS.

2007 IS250 which I have had since July of 2007. Ive been the only owner. Ive kept up with basic maintenance and TSB's. Only issues I have had have been a water pump which died at 60k (replaced under warranty), driver seat belt not retracting well (recent issue which has yet to be repaired) and the occasional engine stutter common to the 250. Nearly 82k miles into it and nothing much to report problem wise. Overall this thing has held up amazingly well over the years. Ive been very impressed.

My IS doesn't have much miles but its been super reliable. I did test drive an IS350 with over 80K miles and it still drove like new. I plan on keeping mine for a very long time.

I just reached 101k yesterday, I have not had any problems, just the routine full synthetic oil change and tsbs. However I have noticed the carbon buildup issue here in the past year, although my CPO ended last fall any ideas?

Did calling corporate get you anywhere? I'm at almost 90k and haven't had any of these fail yet, but you have suddenly made me quite nervous.....

Ive never had an issue with my IS. So far Im at 39k miles and counting!

My mom still has a 2002 camry with about 130xxx miles and it has yet to have any issues, and I abused that car. Delievered pizzas in it for about a year and a half haha
