Recommendations for an apparently VERY small diameter lugnut......
Okay, I have been looking online and using the search button for the last four days, but not having any luck. My issue is two fold, in that I need a very thin wall tuner style lugnut but also need it to be an extended lugnut as well. I recently purchased a set of Motegi MR125 wheels in satin black and will be running 18x8 in the front and 18x9 in the rear. I did a little bit of looking around for lugnuts that I liked, but decided that I would just wait until the wheels came in. Well they came in and I did a test fit of a generic 12x1.5 splined lug, only to find that it's 1 1/4" length looks ridiculously short (you will see what I mean in the pic below). Now that I am trying desperately to find a nice set before putting them on, I am finding that these wheels have a remarkably small lugnut hole. Most lugs (Muteki, KICS, Rays, etc) state that they use a 17mm socket to install and remove them. When I tested this in my wheels, I could only get a 16mm to fit, and there was very little tolerance at that. The 16mm socket is an overall diameter of 21.75mm when I checked it with a micrometer. Most of the lugs that I've seen show that the outside diameter of the conical seat is 22mm. Because of the way these wheels taper at the lug hole, there is not much extra clearance even at the end of the lug if I ran an extended lug. The only really thin splined lugs that I seem to find in an extended length appear to be in 14x1.5mm. If anyone has had to use super thin lugs for aftermarket wheels in the past, I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.

I searched Gorilla when I tried looking for the "thinnest" wall 17mm socket and found that their 17mm was 24mm in diameter. Looks like I'm not going to be able to find any sexy lugs for these wheels. The tuner style nuts that will fit (pictured) don't seem to be available in the lengths that I would prefer.

Is anyone running the "long" F Sport lugs that are on Sewell? If so, could you let me know the OD of the splined socket? These may be my only shot at not using a short generic lug. Here is a link to the lugs that I'm referring to.....

Couldn't you use an internally driven lug nut?
Something like this for example:

Thanks for the input, and I did find a bunch like those. Problem is that they are only about 1.25" long also. Most extended lugs are larger in diameter. I sent a few requests for socket size to a couple eBay sellers but either didn't get a reply or got conflicting info. I just went with the regular parts store lugs in the pic (you can only research lugnuts for so long before losing your sanity after all).
