mileage is irrelevant in toyotas, you'll get tired of them before they break down. get lexus.

Is the car going to be driven a lot? That's one of the things I love about my IS.....its so comfortable to drive in and that really helps with all the driving I do. So i say go with the IS if comfort is high up on the list!

I think by driving expressions, IS250 AWD would be closer to Celica. Camry wouldn't feel the "sporty" driving expression.

However, IS250 is more expensive on cost to own, gas, maint, parts etc. than a Camry.

I had a 97 celica and its handling is fantastic !!

When it comes to practicality.. its really just AWD and heated leather seats VS roomy cabin, folding rear seat, cost of gas

Op, I was looking at the same things. Take what you love about the IS and go to a Toyota dealership and ask if they have those features. By the time you say leather they'll point you to the nearest Lexus dealership.

This is more of a fiscal question. Just make sure you address the carbon build-up on the 250. Everything everyone has said are strong and valid points. Personally, if you can afford maintenance on the Lexus, go for it. Like EthanV said - it turns heads.

I had and 07 camry and traded that for an 06 250, I Loved the Camry Its roomy, great mpg's reliable, etc. etc and Lexus well it speaks for it self they are both very reliable obviously but she needs to drive both before making her decision

Think of maintenance, the little things not cover by the warranty it's very expensive on a IS. The IS soon is going to b 100,000 miles so the probability of it braking its higher than the Camry!!

I went from a 07 Camry XLE loaded with Nav to a 07 IS250 AWD loaded with Nav. Camry is flawless, cheap to maintain and an every day car. Lexus is more flashy but so far, I have had the carbon recall as the car threw a warning light and idled like crap. Then it went in for the cam chain rattle. Overall, I am not a fan of this Lexus also because if it breaks this is gonna cost me... Lexus wants $400 to change just the spark plugs.

Yeah she doesn't care. My fear is Maintance on the is where as Camry can be taken anywhere.
